June 2010

Ok Mark just hates this blog thing. That is why it has not been updated to often. So I will randomly keep you all up with things or post to Facebook.

I will let you know, Mark is still in remission and doing so well that he is going off some meds for a month to give his body a break. Doctor said all test come back at 100% clean. Most people never go into 100% but at this point Mark is. His dexascan shows most of the lesions are trying to heal and fill in. The labs show no spikes at all. So in other words he is back to his old ornery self again. It was one rough year, but we made it and he has his second chance.

How about a few pictures:

This is his most recent picture, and if you look close he almost smiled

Now I borrowed some pictures of the kids..

.
Toni & David
Damian, Christopher, Dominick,
Alisia and Omar

Brittany & Raul
Paytton & Carlos, Paytton had her 3rd Birthday this month
I wish he would keep the wheels on the ground!

And Shane, he is just growing up to fast!!

Sorry Brooke I don't have any of you and you have not posted anything new.

Just remember if you don't see an update, look on Facebook. If there are any changes I will for sure keep this updated.

Everyone have a beautiful Day Every day : ) and thanks for all the support

Time for an update already

Mark is still doing great. No sign of the myeloma in any of his tests YAY! He has some neuropathy that started in his feet that makes his feet hurt and uncomfortable all the time. He has stopped taking one of the meds that may be causing this. He still is going up once a week to do his maintenance. Other than that there is not much to tell you about there.

March we had a couple birthdays, Britt on the 1st, Shane was the 22nd and Alicia (a friend, adopted grand kid) the 28th.

mmmm Ice cream cake

Princess of the day Alicia

A couple other celebrations
Lock up your daughters and stay off the roads SHANE has a learners permit to drive!

This is what to look out for! If he can climb that high...

Britt finished school and passed the testing with high scores also landed a job in the same week. Congrats Britt!!

Also Miss Paytton is officially potty trained YAY!! She also had to go to the dentist, she came out of the dentist missing a tooth. : ( poor kid

I will add Easter in this blog. IT WAS COLD!! THE END! No just kidding. It was cold we woke up on that Thursday morning to a blizzard and 5 in of snow at 5 am. It all melted off by afternoon and we headed out. Easter morning we had snow on the ground at the dunes, but it also melted off just in time to go home. All in all it was nice to spend some time with the family for the Easter weekend.
5 am out the door at work

First morning, where did sand mountain go?

Ok it was COLD to ride around

Snow on the mountain for Easter Sunday
I think that covers it all.

February 2010

Hello everyone, February has been a pretty good month for us.

Mark had his port checked out and hooray no surgery it was fine. It just needed some cleaning out. Then Mark had all his testing done for our appointment with Dr “Z”. Everything has checked out great! He is still in remission. Mark is doing so well that some of the lesions are mending themselves. This is rear but has been seen in a few patients. In another three months Mark may be off his maintenance (the velcide and Dex he dose every Wed.) if he continues to do so well.

We did get to look at T-5 vertebra and I don’t have much to say there but, “If it don’t hurt, don’t mess with it” the tumor did shrink with the radiation. But the way T-5 exploded really doesn’t give Mark much hope of fixing it. It could paralyze him if the littlest mistake happened. There is always room for a second opinion down the road.

Mark also caught his first cold, bronchitis. Mark’s immune system is like a new baby. He has one now, but it is not strong yet. So this had him down for a few days, he is feeling much better and now knows to stay far away from sick people.

Carlos had his first birthday. Both he and Mark were sick so they could not celebrate together.

Not everyone get's to drive Grandpa's car!

I can’t resist bragging.. I did my first 5K! By no means am I a runner. Being an ex smoker (a little over one year) I did my first walk/jog 5k in 45 min in the cold wind. I loved it and who knows what will be next. At first it was to say "BEEN THERE, DONE THAT.. GOT THE T-SHIRT!" (Thanks Tina) But they didn’t give out the T-shirt. All money went to the Red Cross for Haiti. So I loved it and will do it again (March 27th?)
Brrrrrritt and Lori, Nope not cold!

Hello New Year

Nothing has happen for the month of January, just some much needed relaxing.

Mark will go in on Feb 5th to have his port checked out, he has had some problems with it not wanting too work right. If they find any problems on the inside they will take him straight into surgery and replace it. Then February is Mark’s three month work up and see Dr Zangari. On the 12th we go for a MRI and hope that this time we can see if the tumor has shrunk any and how that T-5 vertebra looks. He will do all his labs and tests then on the 19th we will see Dr Z.

Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that he is still in remission.

Congratulations to Brittany for finishing school YAY!!

Carlos will turn one on the 16th of this month. Grandpa’s little buddy

Congratulations to Brooke’s sister, Brandi and husband they had a beautiful baby girl.
