Unfortunately there has been no change for Mark today. It has been 4 days now with no food or water for him. Anything that goes into his mouth, including water, comes right back out. Dianna will hook up an IV for Mark every 8 hours now instead of every 12.
There was a misunderstanding last night with Home Health. The delivery man showed up at their house at 8:30 pm without a nurse. Dianna got in touch with Home Health and found out that they thought Mark and Dianna were staying in SLC instead of at home so they hadn't scheduled them with the local service in Tooele. Knowing that Mark needed his fluids and meds, Dianna bravely decided to hook Mark's IV up without any direction, hoping and praying that she was doing it right. Home Health from Tooele finally arrived at 10:30 pm, but thanks to Dianna's efforts, their help wasn't needed. Good job, Dianna! Now hopefully they won't charge the insurance company for services that Dianna ended up doing.
Unfortunately it is possible that Mark's sickness could last for several more days until engraftment takes place -- that could be about 8 more days.

I just wanted to let you both know I am thinking about you all of the time. It's just awful what you are going through. You are both very brave people. I lost my grandma Peterson to cancer and it was awful to see her go through that. You keep fighting. I will keep praying and keeping you in my thoughts.
Love,
Tresha Peterson
Way to go Dianna! I'm so impressed that you didn't let the IV stuff intimidate you and you just got in there and did what needed to be done. You're both so much stronger than we could have ever imagined and I'm proud of you both. We love you and we're honored to be a part of your lives. Now get better, Strapper, and let's go to the sand dunes this summer:)
Personally, I think that the insurance company should pay Dianna (or at least reimburse some of the costs) AND give her an honorary nursing degree. She's earned it! Hang in there both of you. Sometimes you have to do it one moment at a time and that's okay - whatever it takes to get through this time in your lives. I hope Dianna got my message about SeaBands. They are an acupressure band that is worn on the wrist for motion sickness, morning sickness, any kind of nausea. Hopefully, they will work for Mark. They are under $20 and should be available at Walmart or Walgreens. I'm praying for both of you. Love, Nancy
Way to go Diana, kind of scarry I'm sure. You'll be amazed the things you will find that you can do.
Hang in there, and Mark I hope the nausea is soon gone. Stay positive, even though though things are rough right now. That will help you a lot. This is Aunt Sue talking, it doesn't hurt to have another priesthood blessing. I keep your name on the prayer list at the temple daily. My best to you.
Love, Aunt Sue
