Today Mark is feeling a little better. He has not thrown up since yesterday afternoon, but riding home in the car from the hospital today was a minor form of torture. He is still not able to eat or drink anything but has been able to use a spray bottle filled with water to moisten his mouth.
Mark and Dianna will continue to go to the hospital every morning to get fluids and meds. Dianna will give Mark his meds through the IV a couple of times at night.
Andrea, the physicians assistant, thinks the worst of it will be over by Sunday or Monday and engraftment should have taken place by then. Mark will be evaluated on Monday to make a determination.
Mark is officially neutropenic so he is back to wearing a mask.

So glad your feeling a litttle better Son. Hope every day continues to get better for you. I know it's hard on you not to feel good. Be tuff son. I was told that when the flowers bloom, so will great joy come in to my life. This means that when the flowers bloom, you will be feeling better and I will be happy again. Luv Mom
Mark,
I know what you're going through. It's tough--real tough. I recall mouth sores and everything tasting like cardboard. My oncologist advised against ice cream from fast food places because of possible contamination from unsanitary equipment. I survived on juices, purees, cream soups, etc., nothing solid. I thought the side effects would be better now than a couple of years ago but sounds like they have more work to do in that regard.
You can do it. Each day is closer to feeling better. You have a terrific caretaker (Dianna) and lots of supporters pulling for you.
My wife wouldn't let anybody near me for many weeks after my transplant for fear of contracting something. Keep a close watch on fevers. There has been no mention of fever in your case so that's a good sign.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
Today is Sunday. Travis & Brooke were here for a visit. Your daughter is concerned about you and misses you. Honey, everyone is thinking of you. Know that you are not alone. Your on everyones mind and everyone is praying that you will feel better soon. I love Son. Mom
Sorry to read you're not feeling so well Mark. Ya know, you stepped up to the line with the biggest stick in the shed. It's your turn to put the hurt on the Myeloma, and that's what you're doing. You're going to get strong again, count on it. We're all inspired by your fight.
Best to you and the family
